Control Your Climate

Tasmania is cold! Well, we’re not telling you anything you don’t know there, but did you know that heating your home can account for in excess of 50% of your electricity usage?

That’s where DMS Energy comes in. We can tailor a heating solution to reduce your overall consumption while still keeping you comfortable during those harsh Tasmanian winters. We supply and install all the leading brands of heat pumps (reverse cycle air conditioners for all our mainland ex-pats) and we are also proud to introduce the “future of heating” into Tasmania.

Reverse Cycle

We know that everybody is different, and so is every home. Actron Air have developed a wide product range that can be tailored to suit every lifestyle, from those looking for single room comfort right through to whole of home solutions.

DMS Energy can recommend, sell, install and service one of the many units available from Actron Air. We will have a solution that is right for you, from a single wall mounted unit, multisplit or complete ducted systems. Not sure what all this means? Then get in touch with DMS Energy and in the mean time check out this video on selecting the right system.

When the temperature drops it’s tempting to go to a local retail outlet and walk out with an air conditioner off the shelf. First of all, and especially when it comes to air conditioning, you get what you pay for. Secondly, you need to get it installed, and when you buy retail that could take weeks and weeks to happen. Furthermore, it’s illegal to install an air conditioner on your own because there are controlled substances inside, which means you could be left in the lurch while the temperature is diving.

DMS Energy not only gives you the best advice on your specific needs, but can arrange installation quickly and professionally.

HRV Systems

Noise, pollution and security concerns mean we generally keep our windows closed. This reduces healthy natural ventilation and in some cases actually increases the inhalation of harmful pollutants and dust. There’s a misconception that to be more energy efficient we must seal up our homes, plugging any gaps where warm air can escape or cold air can get in. Just like us though, our homes need to breathe.

Fresh, filtered air is brought in, old air is removed. The HRV home ventilation system is installed in your roof space, changing the air in your home to expel excess moisture, toxins and odours created by cooking, cleaning, breathing and other sources. Incoming air is filtered to remove dusts, pollens and other contaminants, preventing mould and mildew for a fresher, healthier home.
HRV has been approved by the National Asthma Council Australia. This programme approves products that are committed to reducing the triggers of asthma and allergies

The HRV Home Ventilation system takes the naturally warmer and drier air from the roof space, filters and purifies it, and distributes it evenly throughout the home. This creates a "positive pressure" environment which forces excess moisture from the home.
HRV is the perfect solution to the problem of condensation build up. Your HRV system controls the weeping windows you see and removes hidden damp from walls, bedding, wardrobes, furnishings and soft toys.

The average Australian rooftop collects 220kWh of solar power a year, warming the air in the roof space. The HRV ventilation system harnesses this free warm air, filters and purifies it and then distributes it throughout your home.
Australian houses can be notoriously cold during the cooler months, and well below the World Health Organisation guidelines of between 18-22oC when artificial heating is not used. The average home needs to be warmed up 2-6oC to meet the minimum World Health standards. With 58% of Australian households’ energy use consumed by heating, we need as much free energy as we can get.
By harnessing the sun’s powers, the HRV system naturally dries out your home, making it quicker, easier and more energy efficient to heat, and removes hidden moisture and mould for good.

LAVA Glass Radiators

As energy prices continue to soar, efficient heating has become a necessary element to any home or office. The modern heating solution also needs to be integrated harmoniously into any interior.

The LAVA® Glass Radiator checks all the boxes:

  • Extremely efficient infrared heat
  • Easy to install
  • Versatile installation – mount on either the wall or the ceiling
  • No ongoing maintenance costs
  • Any design is possible, how about a family photo? Perhaps a mirror that never fogs up? Or your company logo?
  • Heats the room evenly with soothing and healthy infrared radiant heat.

Have you ever stepped out of the shade on a cool day and felt the warmth of the sun? This is similar to the feel of LAVA® Glass Radiators (without any of that nasty UV).

The Far Infrared (FIR) indirectly heats the air by warming all the objects and surfaces of the room, which then release the warmth into the air. This not only saves heating costs, but creates a comfortable and healthy indoor climate.
